Denali National Park Home to the highest peak in North America (20,320ft.), Denali National Park is the centrepiece of Alaskan wilderness. Once known as Mt. McKinley National Park, it was officially renamed Denali, or "The High One", as the local Native Americans know it. Denali's glaciated landscape supports an array of wildlife, including grizzly bears, caribou, Dall sheep and moose, while its summer slopes are graced with a myriad of birds and wildflowers. Endless hiking trails let you explore to your hearts content.
Kenai Fjords National Park The town of Seward is the gateway to the Kenai Fjords National Park, and comprises of nearly 700,000 acres on the southeast coast of the Kenai Peninsula. Enjoy an incredible wildlife cruise of Resurrection Bay and the Aialik Fjord, with pristine scenery, beautiful tidewater glaciers calving into the sea and an abundance of wildlife, including whales, seals, sea lions and birds. Hike in the high-country of the vast Harding Icefield for spectacular views of Exit Glacier, a half-mile wide river of ice.
Wrangell - St. Elias National Park A day's drive east of Anchorage, this spectacular park encompasses towering mountains, massive glaciers and powerful rivers, plus a seemingly endless variety of flora and fauna. Bordering Canada's Yukon Territory, Wrangell - St. Elias covers a massive 13 million acres and is the largest park in the U.S. National Park system. Equalling the size of six Yellowstones, with 4 major mountain ranges, including 9 of the 16 highest peaks in the United States, this park even gives you the chance to try ice-climbing.
