ARGENTINA & CHILE
Argentina's big cities are a delight for the senses, with colourful Buenos Aires leading the way. Experience melt-in-your-mouth steaks whilst watching a traditional tango show. Then head north to the thundering Iguazú Falls or South to the region of Patagonia, with its dramatic mountains jutting from the valley floor like teeth.
Named for its similarity to the humble chilli, you're never far from the coast in long and narrow Chile, and it contains some of the driest deserts dotted with high and dominant mountains. Ensure to stop by aptly named 'Moon Valley' for a landscape of red rock craters which makes you feel like you've landed directly on the moon.
Buenos Aires A cosmopolitan city with a strong sense of tradition, Buenos Aires easily retains its position as one of the most spectacular and buzzing cities in South America. Take a trip to the colourful neighbourhood of La Boca for some steak and street tango, and stop by Recoleta's cemetery where you'll find Evita's impressive final resting place.
Iguazú Falls Bordering Brazil, Paraguay and Argentina, the thunderous roar of these mighty falls can be heard over a mile away, and rainbows cast themselves at every turn. Although Brazil may have the best panoramic view, you can get much closer to the falls on the Argentinian side. There are several walkways, one of which brings you very close to the Garganta del Diablo (Devil's Throat).
Torres Del Paine, Patagonia Perhaps one of the most iconic parks in Patagonian Chile, Torres Del Paine National Park boasts spectacular granite cliffs, meandering trail paths, roaring rivers and tranquil lakes and glaciers. Unequalled as a hiking destination, you'll be sure to work your legs numb in this remarkable natural area.
Perito Moreno Glacier, Patagonia One of the Seven Natural Wonders of the South America, and one of the only growing glaciers in Argentine Patagonia, Perito Moreno currently stands proud at around 250km squared. The best way to experience this wonder is to strap on a pair of crampons and embark on a glacier walk or ice climb. Simply spectacular!
