CLASSIC CAMPING TOURS
Our classic camping holidays allow you to immerse yourself in the great outdoors and get away from it all. Waking up at camp to the smell of fresh brewed coffee in amongst beautiful natural surroundings provides an unforgettable experience.
Where you'll sleep
Camping often allows us to stay in the heart of the most breath taking natural scenery. The campgrounds we stay at are selected for either their scenic beauty or their convenience to the places you'll explore. Many campgrounds are situated close to National Parks or on beaches so you can get back to nature and see the parts of America not seen by other tourists.
Most campgrounds provide modern conveniences and amenities such as hot showers, flush toilets and even small cafes; whilst others will have swimming pools, shops and laundrettes. Sometimes we use small rustic, wilderness camp sites in order to stay in some of the most remote and beautiful areas.
Most camping trips have nights at hotels in cities included in the tour price, so you can stay right in the heart of the action when you're in these iconic cities. On hotel nights you'll simply need to drop your bags, freshen up and you're ready to go and explore.
All equipment is provided (except a sleeping bag!)
On camping tours we provide all the necessary equipment including spacious dome tents, self-inflating sleeping mats, camp lights, food storage containers and all kitchen and cooking equipment, meaning you have everything you need for a great camping experience. The only thing you need to do is bring is a warm sleeping bag (a pillow!) and a sense of adventure and you will be sure to enjoy the trip of a lifetime.
All Meals included whilst camping
On camping trips we include all meals whilst camping in the price of your tour, so you can eat healthily as a group at no extra cost. Grand American Adventures Tour Leaders' coordinate local shopping and assist the group in creating healthy, hearty breakfasts, picnic lunches and delicious dinners each day.
Breakfasts may include fresh fruits and cereal, toast, juice, milk, coffee and tea. Fried bacon or sausage, pancakes or eggs will also be available on more leisurely mornings. Lunches are typically picnic style, and our evening meals can range from grilled meat, fresh fish or chicken dishes, as well as occasional regional specialties such as Mexican food or BBQ's. Vegetarian options will be available. If you need to remain on a special diet during your trip, feel free to bring any particular foods, beverages or whatever you need. Be sure to let us know at the time of booking and we will do our best to accommodate you.
An essential part of a Grand American Adventures camping holiday is helping out around the campground. With guidance from your tour leader, everyone sets up and packs down the camp together. Our high quality tents are very easy to set up and take down on your own, and your leader will show you how.
No Single Supplements and Optional Solo Sleepers
All your accommodation is included in the price of the tour, and if you are travelling as a single traveller then you will share a room with another group member of the same gender. There are no compulsory single supplements. However, if you would prefer your own room then we do offer an Optional Solo Sleeper, where you can pay a little extra to have your own room.
