Insider Tip: Explore local markets
Pancakes with maple syrup

Anyone that's been to the eastern provinces of Canada will undoubtedly wax lyrical about the food and if you get the chance to visit a local market you'll be treated to some of the most delicious smells and tastes that you ever knew existed. A must try for meat-eaters has to be caribou stew that's a staple of the northern territories and perfect for keeping cosy on a chilly afternoon. Of course, as Quebec is responsible for producing a vast supply of maple syrup you have to try at least a little drizzle over ice cream and if you fancy going all out then stick the whole lot on a stack of berry pancakes and to heck with the consequences.
