Trip Itinerary

Our routes have been carefully chosen to include the best night stops and highlights. However, as local and operational conditions may vary and unforeseen circumstances can arise, the following itinerary should be used as a guideline.

As this tour departs at 0730 in the morning we recommend that you book pre-tour accommodation. Please request hotel details at the time of booking.

Day 1: Whitehorse

Before journeying down the Yukon River towards Klondike in the hope of making their fortune, one of the places the hordes of goldrush prospectors rested became Whitehorse, a fitting place for our Canadian canoe trip expedition to begin. Explore the provincial capital at your leisure.
Accommodation: Hotel included | Meals paid locally

Day 2-10: Yukon River

Travel the Klondike Highway to Carmacks, the put-in point where our journey along the 'Great River' begins, with canoes pointing downriver and the compass needle set north. Our voyage covers over 400km but in expedition fashion, our itinerary is flexible and the distance covered each day will depend on river conditions and the ability and interests of the group. This is an active adventure with up to 5/6 hours on the river each day, but we travel at a relaxed pace, allowing you to intimately experience the surrounding wilderness. Spot black bears, moose and bald eagles on the riverbanks from the excellent vantage point of our canoes; paddle through whitewater at the Five Finger Rapids; visit the abandoned goldrush settlement of Fort Selkirk; and perhaps enjoy some bush walking. With a sub-arctic climate, summers are short with long, bright days. In the evenings we set up camp in breathtaking locations on the banks and islands of the river, where you can relax by the campfire or take a refreshing swim.
Accommodation: Camping with meals included

Day 11-12: Dawson City

Reacquaint yourself with civilisation as we reach Dawson City at the confluence of the Yukon and Klondike Rivers. Visit historic sites including the cabins of writers Jack London and Robert Service, pan for gold on a guided tour of an active mine, and try a 'Sour Toe' cocktail or watch a dance show at Diamond Tooth Gertie's Gambling Hall.
Accommodation: Hotel included | Meals paid locally

Day 13-14: Whitehorse

Drive back to Whitehorse via the Klondike Highway, where you can stroll along the waterfront or ride on the Waterfront Trolley before the tour ends.
Accommodation: Hotel included | Meals paid locally
