Trip Itinerary

Our routes have been carefully chosen to include the best night stops and highlights. However, as local and operational conditions may vary and unforeseen circumstances can arise, the following itinerary should be used as a guideline.

As this tour departs at 0730 in the morning we recommend that you book pre-tour accommodation. Please request hotel details at the time of booking.

Day 1: Winnipeg

Arrive in Winnipeg and check-in to the conveniently located hotel at your leisure.
Accommodation: Hotel included

Day 2: Winnipeg to Churchill

Catch an early morning flight to Churchill and transfer to the lodge. This renowned family-owned lodge has been handcrafted from local materials, with charming log buildings and decor to match the personal friendly service.
Accommodation: Lodge included

Day 3-4: Churchill

Spend two full days exploring the tundra and boreal forest of the Hudson Bay coastline in search of the majestic polar bear. Our driver/guide will lead expeditions to designated wildlife viewing areas where it is not uncommon to see arctic fox, and hare, camouflaged ptarmigan and, if you are lucky, the snowy owl.

One day will be spent on the large and comfortable tundra vehicle with the other on the more nimble Wildlife Viewing Bus. Both vehicles are custom built and equipped with a propane furnace, toilet facilities, and a rear viewing deck for safe photography outside the vehicle. Although the vehicles can accommodate up to 40 passengers, group sizes are limited to a maximum of 25 for comfort and convenience. On tundra viewing days we depart from the lodge at 8:00 a.m. A hearty packed lunch, hot drinks and snacks are included.
Accommodation: Lodge included

Day 5: Churchill to Winnipeg

On a cultural and heritage tour, visit the historic Cape Merry where the Churchill River spills into the bay, and several other sites with short hikes along the coastline. Then it's on to the 'Polar Bear Jail'. One way the citizens of Churchill care for their polar bear friends is to put them in 'jail.' When someone spots a polar bear too close to town, they call a special phone number, and the bear is humanely trapped and placed in the Polar Bear Jail until it can be safely transported back to the wild. There will also be time for an exhilarating dog sled tour or a scenic helicopter flight over the nearby Hudson Bay and Cape Churchill, before the return flight to Winnipeg.
Accommodation: Hotel included

Day 6: Winnipeg

Take time to explore Winnipeg, home to the world's largest collection of Inuit art, before preparing for your return flight home.
