With fewer tourists, this time of year is perfect for spotting wolves and moose along Maligne Road. Continue your afternoon of discovery with a walk through the base of Maligne Canyon and gaze upon the impressive icefalls towering overhead. As well as the wildlife there's also ample opportunity for some adventure with a hike to breathtaking Maligne Lake and a spot of snowshoeing around the park. On the road again, this time along the revered Icefields Parkway, one of the most beautiful drives in the world and one of Canada's national treasures. This morning you head out on a snowmobile for a different kind of adventure through the Rocky Mountains. The ride is just as enjoyable for the driver as it is for the passenger; the driver gets the thrills of driving in the snow while the passenger gets to take in the amazing winter scenery of the Rocky Mountains. A quick stop for a hot drink is the ideal time to switch drivers and get a different perspective on your ride. The afternoon is free for you to relax at the lodge or take part in one of the many optional activities available from Golden or Kicking Horse Mountain Resort.

The massive Victoria Glacier and snow-frosted Rocky Mountains provide a spectacular backdrop for skating on Lake Louise. Being one of the top ten ice skating rinks in the world, renting ice skating equipment is a definite must. If skating really isn't for you then a beautiful wintery walk around the lakeshore will provide you with yet more spectacular scenery. At the end of the day you'll enjoy free time in Banff before checking into your hotel.
