Banff National Park Tours

Banff National Park ToursFor anyone who's of the understanding that 'old guys do it better' Banff is certainly cut to your cloth because, as this is Canada's elder statesman, it presents an excellent example of how patience through maturity certainly outweighs the benefits of youth.

There are so many things to do in Banff, including kayaking on Lake Louisedriving the Icefields Parkway and trekking through pine-covered foothills, which makes it the perfect destination for lovers of life outdoors.

If you've never experienced the Canadian Rockies before then this is a superb place to start, and once you finally prise yourself out of the hot springs you'll be in for a national park treat to truly savour.

Banff Insider Tips

Fly like an eagle over Banff
If you've always wanted to but never thought you'd get the chance then a helicopter ride over the glaciers, mountains and shimmering lakes of Banff is an absolute trip of a lifetime. Imagine soaring over ice fields and keeping an eye out for grizzly bears as you skirt pine forests and listen to your guide pointing out the natural landmarks below. This is simply a stunning way to view an incredible environment and as you get buckled up and watch the rotor blades whir into life, you'll know that you've made the right decision.
When to go
Pack clothing for every weather condition that you can possibly think of, because Banff has a propensity for change that knows no bounds. As a rule in Canada you can expect June, July and August to be relatively warm and pretty much perfect for hikers and walkers. Outside of these months temperatures can be pretty chilly, especially at night, however you will get less crowds and the transitional months of September and October are simply breath-taking if you're a fan of colour-changing foliage.
Highlights & Activities

Banff National Park Tour Highlights

Icefield Parkway
Negotiate the peaks and plateaus of the Canadian Rockies on Alberta's most scenic stretch of road. You'll find the frozen swathes of the Colombia Icefield and the thundering cascades of Sunwapta Falls providing just two of many incredible backdrops.
The hot springs of Sulphur Mountain
Locals have taken full advantage of Sulphur Mountain's naturally hot spring water by creating an outdoor pool. Definitely one of the best springs around, so take some time out to relax and enjoy this Rocky Mountain high.
Horse-riding in Banff
There are plenty of well-worn trails around Banff that are ideal for horseback riding. Under the watchful tutelage of your lone ranger tour guide you'll soon forget all of your worries as you sit back and let Silver take the strain.
