Overview

Toronto Tours

Toronto ToursLakes and Canada go together like Autumn and leaf chasers so it will come as no surprise that the country's largest city, Toronto, is located slap-bang on the shores of the magnificent Lake Ontario.

As you'd expect, trips to the lake islands are ever-popular during the summer months and when combined with the city's waterfront district you won't be short of excuses to relax and explore outdoors.

If the heavens do open then don't despair, Toronto boasts a vast shopping mall (the Eaton Centre) and an excellent natural history museum (the Royal Ontario) as well as plenty of other cultural hot spots to keep you happy and dry throughout your visit.

Toronto Insider Tips

Skypod, CN Tower
The CN Tower is a spectacular eastern Canada landmark that is pretty difficult to miss no matter where you find yourself in Toronto. Take the glass-floored lift straight to the observation deck to experience the magical panoramas. The highest viewing area is the SkyPod which is just shy of 1500 feet up and promises unrivalled views of the city and beyond with the mists of Niagara reported to be visible on a clear day. Arrive before 11am or after 5pm to avoid the queues, unless you're booking in advance.
When to go
In general you can expect to find conditions in Toronto to be relatively mild although it can get slightly humid during July and August. Winters are pretty chilly so pack accordingly. End of April to mid-June is one of the best times to visit as temperatures are pleasant and there are less crowds. The same can be said for September to mid-October although evenings will be on the colder side. If you're visiting during the summer you may wish to prepare for a storm or two as the humidity builds to a brief deluge.

Toronto Tour Highlights

CN Tower
One of Toronto's most iconic landmarks is the CN Tower which shoots up to almost 2000 feet making it the 5th tallest structure of its kind. You can even take on the thrilling EdgeWalk, where the adage 'don't look down' is often mentioned but rarely heeded.
China Town
If you are visiting Downtown and you feel the need for dim sum and dumplings or a refreshing bubble tea, then check out the bright lights and authentic restaurants of Toronto's China Town, one of the largest Chinese districts in the whole of North America.
Kensington Market
Another distinctly diverse area of Toronto is Kensington Market which is one of the city's best-loved neighbourhoods and a popular hang-out for the Sunday morning papers and coffee lovers. It also serves as a cultural hub, with regular festivals and live acts.
Lake Ontario
Regular tours from Toronto onto the calm waters of Lake Ontario allow you to escape the hub-bub of the city for the day if you have time and with car-free islands and plenty of beaches to choose from this is an ideal way to rest and relax on a warm summer's day.
