Boston Tours

Boston ToursAs the largest city in New England, Boston is awash with things to do and if you're hoping to combine revolutionary heritage with cobbled streets and one of the best park systems in America then there's no better option on the East Coast. Strolling around the city couldn't be easier, and chances to learn more about Boston's past and links across the pond are quite literally everywhere.

The Freedom Trail and the Black Heritage Trail both hold a succession of landmarks which provide the perfect excuse to get yourself orientated. If you're looking for museums, galleries and theatres then Boston's up there with the best of them.

From enjoying clam chowder on a windswept day at the beach to relaxing in the sunshine as you take a picnic at the park, it's no wonder that Boston is often cited as one of the best places to live in the whole of America.

Boston Insider Tips

Traditional seafood dinner
There are all manner of locations on Boston's waterfront where a traditional seafood supper is always on the menu and rightly so. Oysters on ice, classic clam chowder and hot buttered crab or lobster are always crowd pleasers and if you can find the time to explore further afield then Somerville, located just a couple of miles from Boston centre, is well-worth a visit. Imagine fish and chips as the sun sets over the very harbour where the infamous 'Tea Party' took place - that's some tasty history lesson.
When to go
Basically, Boston is an ideal destination all-year-round and even in the depths of winter you'll still find plenty of museums, cafés and bars offering welcoming respite from the harsh chills outdoors. In winter there are lots of indoor activities taking place with theatres, galleries and food courts all putting on their own special festivities. Boston features a succession of events from the spring right the way through to autumn, with sailing regattas, the annual marathon and national celebrations.
